I don't have much time now a days with 2 small children and a busy home life, so once again I have created a card within half an hour for a party my son went to today. I really need to sit down for half a day and create a whole lot of cards for these last minute moments.
This time I was inspired by Paula Dobsons wonderful card creations with her Sponging, masking techniques and her Sepia Silhouette card. I tried it with the stamp set Dinoroar (which I love) and started trying to make the sponging look like hills, but after a while got too excited with this technique and realised it looked like a mix of clouds and hills.
I found by sponging Lucky Limeade with Island Indigo it created this fantastic green that changed to various colors as I kept applying in different areas.
I then stamped the Dinoroar images (RRP $45.95 Clear or $57.95 wood mounted) directly on the card stock with Staz On, then onto a sheet of Confetti White card stock, water colored then cut them out, and lay them on with Dimensionals to give the 3-D effect.
What a lovely card. sponging looks great.
ReplyDeleteAwesome sponging - those hills look great!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, Callena! I totally love the background effect you have achieved by mixing those two colours. It is absolutely stunning! This stamp set is on my wishlist. The characters are so cute!
ReplyDeleteCallena I love your card! I have recently bought this set, but have only drooled over it so far - haven't tried making anything yet and would probably have struggled to make anything decent, you've given me the inspiration I need! That sponged background is just perfect. How clever are you?!
